MagQu Bio Reagents
Bio-Functionalised Magnetic Beads
With the use of these bio magnetic beads, MagQu offers an advanced assay platform, called Immuno-Magnetic Reduction (IMR) bio-assays. Compared to the sandwich-type and plan-type labeling, this assay is wash free, less time consuming, customisable, highly specific and highly sensitive.
The reagent is a solution of homogeneously dispersed magnetic nanoparticles, which are coated with hydrophilic surfactants and bio-probes such as antibodies. These magnetic nanoparticles will oscillate with AC magnetic fields via magnetic interaction, when the external multiple AC magnetic fields are applied.
Via the bio-probes on the outmost shell, magnetic nanoparticles associate with bio-molecules, magnetically labelling them. Along with the association, the magnetic nanoparticles become either larger or clustered, and less responsive to the external multiple AC magnetic fields. Since their magnetic susceptibility Χac is therefore reduced, the target bio molecules can be detected.

Why IMR?
Compared to ELISA, HPLC and LC/MS/MS, IMR features
-
Very Easy Operation, wash step unnecessary, sample prepurification unecessary, sample colour independent
-
High Mobility
-
High Sensitivity: 10 ppt ~ 10-4 ppt
-
Low Budget
In terms of applications, IMR features
-
Direct, Homogeneous and On-site assays that ELISA does not offer.
-
Direct and On-site assays that LC/MS/MS does not offer.
